Beyonce releases two videos

I like them for what it's worth. Although, I have to admit "Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It]" is a way more exciting of a video than "If I Were A Boy". Both of the songs are growing on me. I think I expected it more from her. But whether or not I think the songs are shitty, Beyonce will still sell a 700 bajillion records. It's the truth!

Another shitty video for a great song. Must be the season. The video is just boring. And the fact that Jazmine Sullivan NEVER looks the same, twice, bothers me. Now I would not consider her conventionally beautiful, per say, but she usually looks decent. I blame two things: Photoshop for making Jazmine look different all the time, and the Knowles' sisters. They done convinced the world that these curly, long wigs is the business. If I ruled the world......

Happy Birthday Beyonce

Today is B-Day and Beyonce is turning 27 years old. I am like GA GA GAY for this girl!!!!! Hear about Solange? She only sold 46,000 copies. Hey, at least there is still hope that she will out sale Kelly. Her release is still pretty new.

There're really nothing exciting about the video. Hoes dancing, ass shaking and a few weaves behaving badly. But much props to Trina's wig because it decided to do right by her during the video shoot. What?!? Don't tell me you ain't noticed that her wigs been on backwards, Dreamgirls style.

When doing hoe shit goes wrong

Jackie-O admitted to HIP HOP WEEKLY that she fucked a no name producer for some stacks and to secure a deal with Poe Boy Records:

“Everybody that signed [to Poe Boy] had gotten their advance money, but when it came time for me to get my advance, I had to f*ck for my advance. It was ten stacks and I had to f*ck for it. So naturally it wasn’t something that I’m proud of doing. And I don’t advise any female to get into no business – be it music or whatever – and get exploited like that. So she did some hoe shit and her career never took off. I personally, would have kept this tidbit to myself. I smell a desperate cry for attention.

And they also have rights. In Madrid, the prostitutes united to stop the gentrification of the STROLL they call WORK. Now that's some real unity.


Prostitutes held colorful fashion parades in central Madrid on Thursday to demonstrate against plans by property developers to buy up premises in which they have long plied their trade.
Organizers said the street parades were intended to show that the prostitutes were no threat to local residents or shopkeepers if they stayed in the area.

Dozens of onlookers clapped as sex workers modeled revealing outfits in a parade humorously dubbed "Madame Bitch".


"This is so that we can be seen, to show we can do many things apart from what we already do," said a participant who gave her name as Dayanara.

"It's also a proposal for ladies of the night and normal people to live together," added Dayanara, who has been a sex worker since arriving from Ecuador seven years ago.
Prostitution is illegal in Spain but tolerated and very visible. However, authorities have run public information campaigns saying clients encourage mistreatment of women, gun-running and drug-trafficking.


At least they trying to take the shame out of hoeing. Well, let me not say that because the hoes on the stroll in my neighborhood have no shame either. More power to them....

A good day to be black and woman

For the first time ever Italy Vogue will feature only Black models in the pages of their July 2008 issue. And finally!!! Black women (as a collective) are one of the biggest fashion consumers (we spend $20 billion a year on clothes!)in the world. But still, we aren't really represented on the runways and in commercials. Luckily, there are still photographers like Steve Meisel out there that know the real:

For the July issue of Italian Vogue, Mr. Meisel has photographed only black models. In a reverse of the general pattern of fashion magazines, all the faces are black, and all the feature topics are related to black women in the arts and entertainment. Mr. Meisel was given roughly 100 pages for his pictures. The issue will be on European newsstands next Thursday and in the United States soon after.
Under its editor, Franca Sozzani, Italian Vogue has gained a reputation for being more about art and ideas than commerce. Ms. Sozzani also doesn’t mind controversy.


I only read VOGUE on occasion (i.e When I'm in a really nice restroom in like Nordstrom's or Bloomingdales. The bathrooms are top notch by the way!) but I will be sure to pick up this issue. And this adds on to America being on the verge of having a FIRST BLACK FAMILY in the white house.

I love Alexyss Tylor and all her glory!!! She is discussing a very common practice among women: holding in your shit while at your boyfriends house. I am so guilty of this. But after watching this video I decided that the next over night trip I take to my guy's house, I will include some Febreze and a book of matches in my over night bag. I'm only human....
